State Funded Muslim Schools

The demand for Muslim schools comes from parents who want their children a safe environment with an Islamic ethos.Parents see Muslim schools where children can develop their Islamic Identity where they won’t feel stigmatised for being Muslims and they can feel confident about their faith. Muslim schools are working to try to create a bridge between communities.

There is a belief among ethnic minority parents that the British schooling does not adequately address their cultural needs. Failing to meet this need could result in feeling resentment among a group who already feel excluded. Setting up Muslim school is a defensive response.

State schools with monolingual teachers are not capable to teach English to bilingual Muslim children. Bilingual teachers are needed to teach English to such children along with their mother tongue. According to a number of studies, a child will not learn a second language if his first language is ignored.

Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Muslims have the right to educate their children in an environment that suits their culture. This notion of “integration”, actually means “assimilation”, by which people generally really mean “be more like me”. That is not multiculturalism.

In Sydney, Muslims were refused to build a Muslim school, because of a protest by the residents. Yet a year later, permission was given for the building of a Catholic school and no protests from the residents. This clearly shows the blatant hypocrisy, double standards and racism. Christians oppose Muslim schools in western countries yet build their own religious schools.

British schooling and the British society is the home of institutional racism. The result is that Muslim children are unable to develop self-confidence and self-esteem, therefore, majority of them leave schools with low grades. Racism is deeply rooted in British society. Every native child is born with a gene or virus of racism, therefore, no law could change the attitudes of racism towards those who are different. It is not only the common man, even member of the royal family is involved in racism.

The father of a Pakistani office cadet who was called a “Paki” by Prince Harry has profoundly condemned his actions. He had felt proud when he met the Queen and the Prince of Wales at his son’s passing out parade at Sandhurst in 2006 but now felt upset after learning about the Prince’s comments. Queen Victoria invited an Imam from India to teach her Urdu language. He was highly respected by the Queen but other members of the royal family had no respect for him. He was forced to go back to India. His portrait is still in one of the royal places.

There are hundreds of state schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be designated as Muslim community schools with bilingual Muslim teachers. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

I'm SICK of ISLAM and SICK of HEARING ABOUT ISLAM!
It's absolutely NOTHING to do with peace. It raises standards for nobody,
It universally LOWERS and NEGATES progress and freedom. It's an UGLY
creeping slide back into the DARK AGES!

Forty per cent of Muslims between the ages of 16 and 24 said they would prefer to live under sharia law in Britain, a legal system based on the teachings of the Koran.

One in eight young Muslims said they admired groups such as al-Qa'eda that "are prepared to fight the West".

Turning to issues of faith, 36 per cent of the young people questioned said they believed that a Muslim who converts to another religion should be "punished by death."

This is absolutely rediculous... I mean, COME ON! SCHOOL IS A PLACE TO LEARN!

That that I am against islam or any muslim individuals, but this is retarded. IF Muslims want to live in Western countries, they can't start imposing themselves or their religions on our school system.

I mean I know this is in the UK, but come on....

I've always been on the opinion that if you don't like the country you live in, go find another one. Seems like muslims need to leave the UK and go somewhere better for them.

Mainstream Muslims are complicit. It's time to take the gloves off with ALL of Islam in the Middle East. We would make much more progress if we waged all out war on civilian populations as we did in Japan and Germany, but we've become too soft and politically correct in the West. Nietzsche was right, ultimately democracies implode over time because their own opulence causes them to despise themselves and make "victims" of their enemies- they become soft.

The UK is a christian country. 10 years ago, when i was still in school, they were complaining the schools were too christian. Today, the schools are neutral (or at least are in Scotland), and they want them turned Islamic? Isnt that hypocritical to the extreme?

Im not a christian. I never was, I doubt I ever will be. When Christian activities such as going to the church came around, I simply didnt attend. My school was smart enough to see that Christianity should not be forced upon anyone who is not a Christian. If Islam doesnt want thier people to be taking part in non Islamic activities then the answer is not changing everything to Islam, it is simply avoiding activities which they do not want to take part in.

I am as open minded as you'll get, but quite simply - NO. Do not force your views upon everyone else.

It is not Islam and Muslims who are creating problems, actually it is British society creating problems for the Muslim community.

The Muslim community has been vicitm of Paki-bashing in all walks of life by the British society and Establishment for the last 60 years. Now it is vicitm of terrorism by the British Establishment. Thousands of Muslim youth are being serched in the streets and hundreds of them are behind the bar without any trial.

State schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers are not suitable for Muslim children. This is the reason why majority of them leave schools with low grades.

God has created diverse human beings to live in this tiny global village as of one family. Creation by its very nature is deverse with different species, different communities, different cultures and languages. These differences represent the beauty and wonder but diversity is sometimes not fully appreciated, resulting in all sorts of clashes. The British society and Establishment must learn to respect and accommodate others, as if in a family.

A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He/she does not want to become notoriously monolingual Brit. He/she is supposed to be well versed in standard English, Arabic, Urdu and other community languages, to be part of the British society, and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity, as well as proud of his/her cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of his/her literature and poetry.

No one is trying to take away rights from muslims. We're trying to make sure they don't take away rights from us. Not all muslims do this. But there are many muslims that are trying enforce their way of life on other people in countries they immigrate to.

Islam isn't just a religion, but a way of life. A way of life that is incompatible with a Western way of life. IF Muslims don't like it in OUR Country then let them FO back to some beheading backward goat shagging country that they come from.

Britain, its schools and funds are not for the Musllims...it's for everyone who live here. why you want a separate school for muslims...if you want to educate your children in Islamic schools you can leave and do that in your native land...this is sheer stinking to talk ill of a nation that provided you with everything....you came here, we never ask you to...if want to stay adopt our way of living...but I know it is useless to expect from Islamists...others will and can adjust easily but these Islamists always have some issue or the other...before saying anything take shit out of you mind and know first religion: Humanity. but i know its againg useless coz you understand only one religion... sorry not even that...but know only to preach hate and nothing more nothing less...

The western ”values” suggest equality and freedom for all, that means society must allow religious freedom. The Christians and Jews have Church/ Jewish schools as well as kosher meat, yet when Muslims simply ask for the very same treatment, the Islamphobic secular right wing jump up and down screaming that somehow western values have been attacked.

The Jews throughout the western world have their own religious courts. Christians have been enjoying the right to be married in Church. Muslims should have the same right to get married in Masajid as well as they need Sharia Courts, dealing in marriage, civil matters and divorce.

It is easy to say” Go back to where you came from”,but do not forget that British Muslims are actually born and educated here. They are in the unenviable position of trying to combine two diffent worlds. That is no easy.

Multiculturalism is not about separation, ghettoisation or balkanisation. It is, instead, a recognition of both diversity and the need for common ground, mutual respect, and cultural engagement.

Muslims all over the world never opposed English as a language what they did was opposition of the Western culture and their system of education. In Pakistan, the medium of instruction is Urdu and English and the official language is both English and Urdu. Pakistan is going to send English teachers to Korea for the teaching of English language.

Muslim parents would like their children to be well versed in standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity.

Majority of Muslim children leave schools with low grades because state schools with monolingual teachers are not capable of teaching English to bilingual children. At the same time, they need to learn and be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry.

I am concerned with the education of the Muslim children. It is nothing to do with integration or segregation. Those state as well as Church schools where Muslim children are in majority, in my opinion, may be designated as Muslim community schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models.

Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

Same with the States. They leave their own countries because of how bad it was. Crave the opportunities there is here and in the UK. Then want to change it to what they left...unreal.
